Dharmesh Sheth shares Emile Smith Rowe stance on West Ham United bid to sign Arsenal attacker
Emile Smith Rowe wants to fight for his place at Arsenal amid interest from West Ham in signing him in the January transfer window, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist tweeted on Friday (19 January) that several Premier League clubs are interested in the England international, but that it would take “something miraculous” for him to leave the Gunners this month.
He added that the 23-year-old attacking midfielder is thought to be happy at the Emirates Stadium and is not expected to move on.
Blow
This is a blow to West Ham’s hopes of bringing in a new attacking player this month as Smith Rowe was seemingly one of the targets they are looking at.
He was probably seen as an improvement on their current options to complement Lucas Paqueta, with Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals struggling to find any form this season.
The Englishman has featured just 12 times so far during this campaign, while only two of those outings came from the start as he’s struggled to force his way into Mikel Arteta’s plans.

It looks like it’s going to be back to the drawing board for the Hammers as there is no doubt that at least one more attacker is needed this month due to the lack of quality depth.
That has been exposed over the past couple of weeks due to the injuries suffered by first-team players, so the next week or so could be crucial in ensuring this is another successful campaign at the London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, the club are eyeing a move for a player on £200,000 a week.
