Dharmesh Sheth details what West Ham United haven’t ruled out doing to Kurt Zouma

West Ham are looking for different solutions for Kurt Zouma after a deal with Shabab Al-Ahli fell through, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 15 August that Julen Lopetegui is planning for next season without the 29-year-old.

There is still interest in the Frenchman from Saudi Arabia while the Hammers could still mutually terminate the final year of his contract.

West Ham still want rid of Kurt Zouma

The Irons’ new head coach has undergone a defensive re-shuffle at the London Stadium which sees Zouma be placed on the chopping block.

Last season, under David Moyes, the back line was breached far too often and certainly needed updating but losing Zouma has certainly come as a surprise.

The ex-captain is now in Dubai and is looking to confirm a move to the UAE still after a move fell through.

With Jarrod Bowen being named as the new captain of the Hammers, it only cements these feelings even more.

It is safe to say that his future at West Ham is all but over and it appears that Tim Steidten has levelled up the defence ahead of the new season.

Max Kilman has come in alongside Jean-Clair Todibo who appear to be the first-choice option at the club for Lopetegui, looking ahead to the Premier League opener against Aston Villa.
