David Sullivan rubs hands together over West Ham rising star as bids submitted for January transfer
West Ham have already had to deal with potential outgoings ahead of the winter window.
Manchester City inflicted another defeat on West Ham with a 3-0 win over the Hammers last weekend.
As such, West Ham are now being predicted to be relegated from the Premier League, as Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side sit five points adrift of safety.
Fulham travel to the London Stadium on 27 December, and defeat to the Cottagers could spell major trouble for Nuno.
Having a good January window looks set to be vital to the club’s survival chances, with a number of new additions desperately needed.

West Ham and David Sullivan seeing pound signs for academy starlet
West Ham have always been renowned for their ability to produce quality young players, and they look to have another one on their hands.
As per a report from French outlet Foot Mercato, West Ham have already turned down offers for 20-year-old midfielder Mohamadou Kante.
It’s stated that the club, and in particular David Sullivan, are very excited at the interest being generated in the Frenchman, with as many as six English clubs having already made inquiries over his availability.
Foot Mercato even say that Sullivan is rubbing his hands together with glee over the in-demand youngster.
However, West Ham are said to be rejecting all approaches for him at this moment in time, with the view of developing him further before selling him for even more money in a couple of years’ time.
West Ham may be wiser to keep Kante rather than cashing in
Kante made his senior debut in West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United on 4 December, coming on as a substitute in the 83rd minute.
Evidently, he’s very highly though of at the London Stadium, and numerous clubs are also seemingly aware of his talent and potential, and are possibly eyeing up the club’s situation as the chance to bag him on the cheap.
However, keeping hold of Kante rather than selling may well be a far wiser move by West Ham.
Should they get relegated this season, then a host of central midfielders such as James Ward-Prowse, Mateus Fernandes and Tomas Soucek would all surely leave the club.
- Kante has scored three goals and provided one assist in eight Premier League 2 appearances this season
- He joined from Paris FC in the summer of 2024
- Kante made his second first-team appearance when coming off the bench against Aston Villa
Therefore, having someone like Kante ready to step-up to a starting role in the Championship could prove invaluable.
Even if West Ham remain in the Premier League, then all of the above names may well move on to pastures new next summer regardless, and so a changing of the midfield guard may be inevitable in the near future, and Kante could be a big part of that if he stays.
