Moyes wants Everton to sanction Tomas Soucek deal despite West Ham contract

West Ham have endured a tough season since David Moyes departed the London Stadium last summer.

Under the Scot’s stewardship last campaign, the Hammers finished ninth in the Premier League table after winning 52 points in the top-flight.

But with just four games left to play this term, West Ham have only earned 36 points and sit 17th in the Premier League.

Graham Potter has failed to turn matters around since Julen Lopetegui’s London Stadium departure, managing just three wins in 15 attempts.

Moyes plots Soucek move as he wants major say on Everton transfers

Tomas Soucek was a particularly strong asset for the Hammers under Moyes’ stewardship and played a key role in the London club’s 2023 Conference League triumph.

The Czechia international notched 10 goals and three assists in all competitions last season, as Moyes got the best out of him.

According to The Sun [Pg 53, 27 April], Moyes is aiming to bring Soucek to Everton and wants a major say on the Toffees’ signing this summer.

Everton’s interest in the 30-year-old comes despite the fact that he signed a new contract in January 2024, keeping him at the London Stadium until 2027.

Soucek could be tempted by Everton interest if West Ham’s form does not improve

The Hammers have enjoyed more success than Everton in recent years, as demonstrated by their Conference League triumph in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Toffees are yet to win silverware since their FA Cup triumph in 1995, and have not landed a top-half spot in the Premier League since 2021.

However, while West Ham are enduring a poor run of form and appear set to end the season in 17th place, Everton’s fortunes have taken a significant turn for the better since Moyes returned to Goodison Park.

The Toffees have lost both of their last two games and sit just two points above the Hammers in the Premier League.

However, as Everton close in on their move to Bramley-Moore Dock, a brighter future could lie ahead for the Merseyside club.

So, unless Potter can turn West Ham’s form around in the last four games of the season, Soucek could be tempted to reunite with Moyes in the North West.
