David Moyes to ask West Ham for last-ditch attempt to sign Filip Kostic via agent – ExWHUemployee
David Moyes is expected to ask West Ham to make one more attempt to sign Frankfurt star Filip Kostic, according to ExWHUemployee.
Writing via his Patreon account on Sunday (31 July), the reliable Hammers insider updated a previous story when he said that the Irons have resigned themselves to defeat in pursuit of the 29-year-old winger as he wants to stay at Frankfurt and see out his contract there.
However, there could be one last twist in the transfer saga because Moyes could try to Kostic’s agent to complete a move for the Serbia international.

ExWHUemployee said: “It is expected that David Moyes could ask the club to try via his agent (same as Scamacca’s) to make one last attempt to sign Kostic.
“But at this point it seems a difficult task with Italian giants also circulating and the player telling the club he wishes to leave next season on a Bosman.”
Difficult
West Ham have spent a lot of this summer barking up the wrong tree.
While it’s great to see us looking at top-quality players, it’s also frustrating that the Irons are chasing so hard to sign players who aren’t interested in joining us.
The whole Jesse Lingard saga says it all.
Kostic is a much-needed player.

He can feature anywhere down the left and he was instrumental for Frankfurt last season as they won the Europa League title.
He scored seven goals and supplied 15 assists in 42 total appearances for the German giants and you can imagine he would cause absolute mayhem when firing crosses into the likes of Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca.
We do want to see Kostic in a West Ham United shirt.
But we don’t want the club to spend so much time chasing a lost cause when they could be moving onto other targets.
Kostic is a good player but there are plenty more fish in the sea.
