David Moyes states how many players he wants to sign as West Ham slump in PL

David Moyes has admitted that the financial situation at West Ham is preventing him from signing the players he wants, and that he has to use his budget ‘as well as I can’.

West Ham are still yet to spend any money this summer, aside from making Tomas Soucek’s move permanent, after he initially joined on loan in January.

Moyes is working with the same squad that only just managed to avoid relegation last season, and with two losses from two games to start this season, new blood is urgently      required at the London Stadium.

West Ham

Moyes knows that West Ham don’t have the money to strengthen as much as he would like, and claims he wants at least three players though the door before the end of the transfer window.

Talking to Football.London Moyes said, “I don’t want just centre halves, I want other positions as well. I think it’s a priority, with a limited budget I have to try and pick a way through which I can use it.

“Ultimately I’d like to sign three or four players, I want a better squad and team but I totally understand we are not in a financial situation to do so and what I do get I will try and use as well as I can.”

There have been outgoings at the London Stadium, in an effort to raise transfer funds, the most notable of which being the sale of highly-rated winger Grady Diangana to West Brom.

This deal angered both West Ham fans and members of the first-team squad including captain Mark Noble, who were upset that such a young talented player had been allowed to leave.

He’s already looked impressive for West Brom this season.

West Ham

The Hammers have failed to shift any of their big-money players, with Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini failing to attract any interest, as West Ham look to strengthen in an effort to avoid another relegation battle.

David Moyes has already had two bids turned down for Burnley defender James Tarkowski, who is a priority signing for Moyes as he looks to improve his defence. But with Burnley standing firm on their £50 million valuation, it seems unlikely that West Ham can afford to bring him to London.

Moyes has remained tight-lipped on who else he would like to sign before the transfer window closes, but if West Ham are to avoid another season fighting for survival, they need some quality additions, and they need them quickly.
