David Moyes set for bigger hand in West Ham United transfers, midfield trio targets
David Moyes is set to be given a bigger say in the recruitment at West Ham United this summer with the club confident he can succeed at the London Stadium down the line, according to Football Transfers.
The Hammers splashed the cash this time last year, spending in excess of £165million across eight different signings, including club-record signing Lucas Paqueta and Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca.
However, this didn’t stop the club from enduring a tough campaign, which looked destined for a relegation battle at points but ended with a 14th-place finish on 40 points.

With Declan Rice widely expected to leave the club this summer, the report also named three midfielders who West Ham are targeting as potential replacements.
Steve Kay wrote: “FootballTransfers can reveal that the midfielders in question are Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse, Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.
“Moyes is set to be given a bigger hand in recruitment, FootballTransfers also hears.”

Trust
Although the Premier League was full of managers losing their jobs last season, West Ham United kept faith with Moyes and could be set to reap the rewards as a result.
Yes, the Premier League campaign wasn’t the most successful, however, the Scot had to juggle bedding in eight new signings with the demands of European football, of which he has navigated extremely well.
If you look at the three teams who were relegated from the Premier League last season, they all lost confidence in their managers at different stages of the season and sacked their managers.
Southampton went through three managers, Leeds United had Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce, while Leicester City parted company with Brendan Rodgers at a crucial juncture of the campaign.
Nottingham Forest, with Steve Cooper, and the Hammers, with Moyes, kept trust in their men in the dugout and subsequently maintained their top-flight coincidence.
This is unlikely to be a coincidence.
Moyes deserves the chance to send West Ham in a new direction after the ever-more-likely-looking departure of Declan Rice this summer, and giving him an increased say in recruitment could be a good start.
