David Moyes sack calls to quickly return at West Ham United amid danger of being undermined

West Ham boss David Moyes could be set to face more sack calls after the club have failed to make any new signings, according to The Sun.

The newspaper reported on 3 August that the Scotsman, who the Hammers board decided to back following the Europa Conference League victory, is in “in danger of being undermined” by a lack of strategy from those above him.

It reiterated the point that Moyes hasn’t got off to the best start with newly-appointed technical director Tim Steidten, with the 60-year-old potentially facing more sack calls on the back of the “chaos” that has occurred since beating Fiorentina just under two months ago.

Thrown under the bus

It looks as though Moyes is being thrown under the bus at the moment in time due to the Hammers’ failures to get any deals over the line.

There have been a number of targets highlighted over the course of the past few weeks, but the club have yet to agree a deal with any players and have, in some cases, already missed out on targets.

The problem is that Moyes and Steidten spent far too long butting heads over which players they should be going for and now the club are well behind where they would like to be with just over a week to go until the start of the Premier League season.

This really should have been a process that was conducted before Declan Rice was allowed to leave the London Stadium, as the duo clearly had issues they needed to iron out.

At the end of the day, Moyes is the one whose job is on the line if the signings they do bring in don’t work because the manager is the one that takes the blame, so you can see why he wants to be so heavily involved in the process.

It’s time to come together and get a deal done before it’s too late and we get off to another poor start.

In other West Ham news, the club are still eyeing a move for their “dream” midfielder this summer.
