David Moyes hopes Jesse Lingard will sign for West Ham soon
West Ham are ready to ramp up their bid to sign Jesse Lingard on a permanent basis from Manchester United, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reports that Lingard, 28, has now been released from international duty by England after failing to make Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming European Championships.
It is understood that David Moyes hopes a permanent deal can be agreed with Man United soon while a West Ham insider has reportedly said: “Jesse knows we want him, so hopefully the club will pursue him in the next month or so.”

Get it done
It would be criminal for West Ham to go into next season without Lingard in their squad but then again, we wouldn’t put it past the owners to let us and Moyes down massively by failing to land the England attacker.
Lingard was in sensational form at the London Stadium during his loan spell last season as he scored nine goals and supplied five assists in 16 appearances.
He played a massive role in us qualifying for Europe and if there hadn’t been key injuries in the squad, there’s no doubt that we could be in the Champions League for next season.
There’s no doubt that West Ham fans will be drooling over the prospect of Lingard arriving back at the London Stadium on a permanent basis – especially if a deal was to happen in the coming weeks or within the next month like the insider said.
Lingard has to be the top priority this summer but Moyes also needs to have other irons in the fire when it comes to adding to the squad.
A new centre-forward is an absolute must and it’s a bit disappointing that we’re yet to see any real progress on that front.
However, the transfer window has opened today (Wednesday) so we might finally start to see some movement in signing a new striker and welcoming Lingard back to East London.
In other West Ham news, this exit-bound Hammers player is in talks to sign for a Euro club with an agreement likely to be soon.
