David Moyes considers new bid to sign Youssef En-Nesyri, Sevilla ready to sell
David Moyes is considering whether to make a new bid for West Ham to sign Sevilla centre-forward Youssef En-Nesyri, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported on their website on 15 June that West Ham failed with a £27million bid for the Morocco international, 25, in January 2021 as Sevilla wanted £40million at the time.
However, it is understood that En-Nesyri’s form in Spain has taken a turn for the worse and Sevilla are now said to be keen to cash in on the former Leganes and Malaga front-man.

Out of sorts
It’s no secret as to why West Ham wanted En-Nesyri in the 2020/21 season and why Sevilla wanted so much money for the Fes-born striker.
He was in hot form for the La Liga club, firing on all cylinders, scoring 24 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions. Six of those goals came in the form of three braces in the Champions League – one being against Borussia Dortmund.
However, in the 2021/22 season, En-Nesyri went backwards and finished the campaign with just five goals in 29 outings in total.
According to the Mirror, injuries and Covid have been the cause of En-Nesyri’s demise. It’s not very often a club goes from wanting £40million for a star player to wanting to get rid of him within 18 months.
If he can rediscover his form then he’d be a superb signing for the Hammers.

However, it’s a tough one. Should Moyes take a gamble on a player who might have already played at his peak? Or, alternatively, does Moyes see through some very fixable issues to sign a proven goalscorer in the Champions League and in one of Europe’s biggest and best leagues?
That’ll be the conundrum Moyes is having right now but he gets paid to make these big decisions.
We trust him. It’s just the board that’s the issue.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have been offered the chance to sign this £12.8million goal machine after his club was relegated.
