West Ham United were active right until the very end of the summer transfer window.

Brighton defender Igor Julio is set to undergo a medical with West Ham after snubbing a move to Crystal Palace earlier on deadline day.

Toulouse defender Charlie Cresswell was also the subject of a West Ham bid, which ultimately fell short of the asking price.

West Ham then turned their focus towards a player at London rivals Chelsea, but that also did not go to plan.

Axel Disasi opts for Chelsea stay over West Ham transfer

West Ham lined up a shock move for Chelsea's Axel Disasi, with Graham Potter clearly after another defender.

However, Disasi rejected a move to West Ham shortly before the 7pm deadline as the move simply did not appeal to him.

Missing out on Disasi was the last in a long list of setbacks for West Ham this summer, and the rejection came as a surprise to pundit Danny Murphy.

When he was told of Disasi's decision in a breaking news update from Alex Crook, Murphy replied live on talkSPORT (1 September, 7:27pm): "Any player would usually jump at the chance to play some football. So yeah, I'm surprised."

What deals did West Ham complete in summer transfer window?

West Ham remain hopeful of finalising a deal for Igor, which would provide a welcome boost for Potter.

Beyond that, the Irons completed deals for:

  • Jean-Clair Todibo (loan made permanent)
  • Daniel Cummings
  • El Hadji Malick Diouf
  • Kyle Walker-Peters
  • Callum Wilson
  • Mads Hermansen
  • Mateus Fernandes
  • Soungoutou Magassa
  • Dimitri Colau

Many will be concerned with the quality of the Irons' squad going forward, especially given the start to the 2025-26 season.

However, West Ham's 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday does at least ensure it is not all doom and gloom.

Hopefully these new recruits can now settle in quickly and help turn things around at the London Stadium.
