Danny Ings pictured after West Ham United medical at Spire Roding hospital
Danny Ings has been pictured after taking his West Ham medical after the club agreed a £15m deal with Aston Villa to bring him to east London.
The Hammers have been in the market for a striker this month to compete with Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio, and agreed a deal worth £12m + £3m in add-ons (Sky Sports, 19 January) for the former England international on Thursday (19 January).
The deal moved quickly and Ings underwent a medical as the club looked to seal a deal prior to Friday’s deadline so he could play in the weekend fixture against Everton.
A picture shared on the West Ham Central Twitter account (19 January) showed Ings at the Spire Roding hospital in east London, where he underwent his medical for the club.
Brilliant
Whatever you think of West Ham this season, it can’t be denied that Ings is an excellent signing and a great value deal for what we need right now.
The club have struggled to score goals this season with Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio combining for a total of five Premier League goals all season.

That’s obviously not enough and with Scamacca now set for a spell on the sidelines too, bringing in a proven Premier League goalscorer who is at the peak of his powers is a great deal.
If we can have him available for the clash with Everton this weekend it would be a huge boost to our chances of getting all three points in a game that has become key in the battle against relegation that we find ourselves in.
If West Ham want to turn this around and move up the table they need to find a source of goals, and Ings could well be the answer to that and the board deserve praise for getting the deal done so quickly.
