Crysencio Summerville value skyrockets in an instant as transfer race in 'XXL' territory

Published on

Crysencio Summerville is heading for the West Ham exit, with Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Aston Villa now locked in a serious battle.

The Netherlands international was always likely to depart the London Stadium following the Hammers' relegation from the Premier League.

Summerville scored five goals and assisted two more in 31 top-flight outings, many of those goal involvements coming in one burst.

He is now catching the eye on the biggest stage of them all at the World Cup, having netted for Oranje in their 2-2 draw with Japan.

And the interest in Summerville is now only increasing with the summer transfer window officially open.

Exactly where Summerville ends up, though, is up in the air.

PSG face serious competition for Crysencio Summerville

Summerville being linked with an exit is not exactly new, but there has been a new update of sorts out of France.

Foot Mercato journalist Sebastian Denis reported via X on Saturday afternoon that Summerville is "shaking up the Premier League".

This is due to his performance at the World Cup, with Paris Saint-Germain now said to be facing "XXL competition" for his signature.

Tottenham, Arsenal, Man United and Aston Villa are all credited with an interest, with Summerville's valuation said to have skyrocketed thanks to his strike against Japan.

Summerville will have a chance to further enhance his reputation when Netherlands take on Sweden in their second Group F outing on Saturday evening.

So how much is Summerville worth now?

Respected journalist Denis reports that Summerville was previously worth around £43million, but that figure is only rising.

The truth is, a player is worth as much as an interested club is willing to pay for him.

If a quartet of Premier League teams are indeed showing a serious interest, plus the back-to-back European champions, then West Ham could easily be looking in excess of £50m.

In an ideal world, Summerville would be thriving at West Ham next season in the Premier League.

But we all know that is not now going to happen, and the best solution is to raise as much is possible before hopefully reinvesting some of it back into the squad.
