Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville has signed his contract with West Ham ahead of a move to the London Stadium, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer specialist reported via his personal X account [3 August] that the 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Hammers, including the option of a further year.

It is understood, as per Florian Plettenberg, that the Hammers will pay in the region of £20million to £25million to sign the Championship Player of the Season last term.

Some fans were beginning to worry about the time that Summerville's transfer has taken to complete, but those same fans can now relax as the player puts pen to paper on a deal.

The 22-year-old was a sensation for Leeds last season, nearly single-handedly firing them to Premier League promotion, though missing out to Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley.

Julen Loeptegui is clear on which players he wants to bring to the London Stadium this summer, and Summerville does not look to be the last to arrive before the window shuts.

Borussia Dortmund's Niclas Fullkrug continues to edge closer to a Premier League switch, arriving on a private jet on Saturday [Sean Whetstone], adding to the number of attacking reinforcements.

Although Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus are likely to occupy the flanks, the addition of Summerville will allow Lucas Paqueta to play a more central role on a regular occasion.

And, for a transfer fee that could go as low as £20million, Tim Steidten must be recognised for the important job he is doing at the London Stadium this summer.

The Leeds ace was destined for a move back to the Premier League after missing out on promotion, and West Ham may have pulled off one of the best deals of the window so far.
