Corinthians to ease stance on forward Yuri Alberto sale amid West Ham United interest
Corinthians may be set to ease their stance on forward Yuri Alberto amid interest from West Ham, according to Marcelo Braga.
The Globo journalist tweeted on 29 August that the Brazilian side’s board were previously completely against sanctioning the sale of the 22-year-old because they currently don’t have a replacement for him.
But he said that the Sao Paulo-based club could be open to doing a deal if the Hammers make an improved offer for the Brazilian international as the transfer deadline approaches.
Tough
This just looks like such a tough deal to get over the line for West Ham as there is such little time left in the window to get it done.
Sky Sports reported on its live transfer feed on 29 August (11:04am) that it is a “problematic” transfer to conclude for the Brazilian due to the number of representatives and intermediaries involved.
If you add in the fact that Corinthians are seemingly unwilling to sell without receiving an improved offer from the Hammers, then it just doesn’t feel like this is a deal the club can pull off.

The Irons have also been linked with his compatriots Pedro, who plays for Flamengo, and Santos’ Marcos Leonardo as sporting director Tim Steidten is currently in Brazil trying to ensure he brings a new forward back to East London with him.
But time is not on our side – even though we’ve had all summer to get a striker in – so we better get moving otherwise we’re going to be short on attacking options this season.
In other West Ham news, the club are eyeing a move for a “sensational” Champions League-winning defender.
