Chelsea make Ivan Toney decision with West Ham United favourites for new transfer

Chelsea have found Brentford striker Ivan Toney too old with West Ham and Tottenham now the favourites to sign him, according to the Sun.

The newspaper reported via its website on 23 July that the Bees are even willing to drop their asking price for the England international to below £50million.

Arsenal are not prioritising signing a striker this summer while Manchester United have already roped in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Ivan Toney would be an ideal transfer for West Ham this summer

Toney would be an ideal signing for the Hammers as at 28, he is entering his prime years as a striker, which aligns perfectly with the club’s need for a proven goalscorer who can make an immediate impact.

His experience in the Premier League with Brentford, where he has consistently delivered impressive performances, demonstrates his ability to thrive in the top flight.

Toney’s aerial ability and clinical finishing make him a threat in the box, while his work rate and pressing from the front contribute to his team’s defensive efforts.

Moreover, the England striker’s potential arrival could help the Hammers build on their recent success in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

His experience of playing against the cream of the crop at EUROs and in the Premier League would certainly come in handy.

However, he would be offered European football at Spurs next season so it remains to be seen whether or not they prioritise a move for him.

In other West Ham news, a £11.6million bid update has emerged as the Hammers aim to beat Brighton to seal a new transfer.
