Chelsea decide on Conor Gallagher transfer amid West Ham United speculation after ‘unbelievable’ Mauricio Pochettino update
Chelsea are open to offers for Conor Gallagher in the January transfer window amid interest from West Ham in signing him, according to ESPN.
The news outlet reported on Thursday (21 December) that a senior figure at a Premier League rival has said it is no secret within the game that an offer worth £50million would likely be enough to tempt the Blues into offloading the 23-year-old midfielder.
It added that Newcastle United and Tottenham are also interested in signing the England international, whose manager Mauricio Pochettino praised his “unbelievable commitment” to the club despite the exit rumours surrounding him.

Make it happen
It’s become pretty clear recently that West Ham are probably lacking an extra player in midfield despite signing Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse over the summer.
Those two have proven to be solid additions to the squad, but with the Hammers fighting on more than one front, another midfielder is needed to help manage the load for those players and Tomas Soucek.
That is where Gallagher, who is a box-to-box player, would fit in perfectly as he would provide something different to what David Moyes currently has at his disposal.

Although the £50million fee is a reasonable amount to have to fork out to sign him, the midfielder has excellent Premier League and international experience under his belt despite being just 23.
Chelsea’s financial situation is something the Irons can look to exploit as they will almost certainly have to offload some players in January to balance the books following their recent spending sprees.
