Cascarino thrilled as West Ham line up ‘shock’ Everton raid for Calvert-Lewin
Tony Cascarino is excited for West Ham after it was reported that they are lining up a £60million swoop for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Sun reported on Saturday night [22 January] that David Moyes has been alerted to the 24-year-old’s situation with Everton trying to balance the books after years of over-spending.
It is understood that Moyes has the money available to be able to fund a “shock” move for Calvert-Lewin and ex-Millwall striker Cascarino is excited by him potentially joining the Irons.

“David Moyes will know his qualities, obviously,” said Cascarino on Sunday, as shown on talkSPORT’s official Twitter account. “He’d have watched him mature as a player.
“He’s probably the best headerer of a ball out of all the big centre-forwards that are around because I think he’s terrific in the air.
“He was fit at the start of the season and started the season really well and certainly in the campaign before, he got a lot of goals.
“He’s about the best around and he’s still at a tender age.”
Cascarino added: “I think that is a massive statement if West Ham was to get something like that over the line.
“Him and [Michail] Antonio could also play together because they’re both prepared to run in channels and they’re both prepared to get on the end of each other’s balls.
“Absolutely, I see that as a great move.”
Huge, huge deal
If West Ham were able to pull this off then that would be an incredible move by the club.
It would really show that the East London club is one that other teams in the Premier League need to take seriously because not many have ever spent that sort of money on a player.
And let’s face it, £60million for Calvert-Lewin wouldn’t be bad business.

He’s only 24-years-old, he’s an England international, he suits Moyes’ style of play and he’s proven at being able to find the back of the net in the Premier League.
Calvert-Lewin has, of course, had his injury issues this season but he’s still managed to score three goals in his six Premier League appearances.
Last term, the ex-Sheffield United striker scored 21 times in 39 appearances across all competitions, with one of them being a winner against West Ham.
Calvert-Lewin is a one of the best at what he does in the Premier League and he would be an incredible addition to Moyes’ attack this month.
