Carney Chukwuemeka wants to join West Ham, Tim Steidten is huge fan of transfer

West Ham United chief Tim Steidten is a “huge fan” of Carney Chukwuemeka, according to Jacob Steinberg.

The Guardian journalist reported via X (30 August) that despite Steidten’s interest, the Hammers were struggling to agree on a deal with Chelsea.

This comes after it was reported earlier that West Ham were among the clubs vying to sign the Chelsea starlet [Mike McGrath, 30 August].

TEAMtalk have also reported that Chukwuemeka is keen on a move to the London Stadium which could persuade Steidten to get his man before the 11 pm deadline.

West Ham United to sign Carney Chukwuemeka?

The Hammers have already undergone a plethora of changes since the summer transfer window opened.

Julen Lopetegui’s side are one of the few Premier League teams who have undergone a major ‘rebuild’ this summer.

Although their spending might seem extortionate to some, with the players that the club have added to their ranks, their overall squad is now much stronger.

Especially defensively with the likes of Max Kilman [BBC Radio Five Live, 24 August, 17:55] and Aaron Wan-Bissaka both being brought in.

Since the arrival of Wan-Bissaka, it has been down to the club to offload the players that they don’t require.

This is so that should they wish to add any further players to their ranks, they can afford to do so on a loan basis.

Carlos Soler’s name is one that has popped up quite frequently [Fabrizio Romano, 30 August] with the Spaniard now set to join ahead of the deadline.

There could be plenty of surprises between now and the deadline.
