Burnley now want to sign West Ham star after Nuno crunch talks, approach made
West Ham have multiple stars who could walk away from the London Stadium in the January transfer window.
Nuno Espirito Santo has already received new signings in the form of Taty Castellanos and Pablo, with the strikers accumulating over £40million in a push for Premier League survival.
But David Sullivan may have to balance the books with sales this month, as some of West Ham’s fringe players could be allowed leave.
The Hammers are currently backed into a corner, with Lucas Paqueta desperate to leave and rejoin his former side, Flamengo, who could be the next exit at E20.
However, Callum Wilson also looks to be on his way out of East London and is all but set to find a new club in January.

Burnley monitor Celtic’s attempts to sign Callum Wilson
West Ham signed Wilson in the summer on a free transfer following the striker’s departure from Newcastle United.
There were initial concerns over the 33-year-old due to his age, but if anything, the veteran forward has proved he can keep scoring in the Premier League.
But with the arrivals of Castellanos and Pablo, Wilson’s game time is bound to be under threat, as the latter will seek game time at this stage of his career.
- Wilson scored 49 goals in 130 games for Newcastle
- He bagged 67 times in 187 outings for Bournemouth
- Wilson has also played and scored for England, totalling nine appearances for his country
- The striker signed for West Ham on a one-year contract
Celtic approached to sign Wilson on Thursday, with talks ongoing at the London Stadium about the Englishman’s future.
According to talkSPORT, Burnley are monitoring Wilson’s situation at West Ham, and could step in after Celtic’s move, with the possibility of the striker becoming a free agent once more this month.
The Irons are only one point above Burnley in 18th place, with both sides trying to stay in the top flight. A move would almost certainly be controversial.
But Nuno will first have to come to a final decision over the former England international’s role at West Ham.
What has Nuno Espirito Santo has said about Wilson’s future?
All things considered, Wilson has done a fairly good job for the Hammers despite a lack of starts.
But with new strikers in the building, Nuno has already admitted that Wilson’s importance to the Irons has shifted.
Nuno said, as quoted by The Standard earlier this month: “Me and Callum [Wilson], we’ve had a lot of conversations. Two strikers have joined. I personally decided these strikers have joined.
“He knows that his position has changed. We were honest with each other. Yes, your position has changed, but you are still a player for the club, and we still may need him.”
Wilson has been left out of West Ham’s last two matchday squads, and everything is pointing in the direction of his departure. But could he be going to the Hammers’ relegation rivals?
