Brighton to accept £40m West Ham bid for Evan Ferguson
Brighton would be willing to accept a bid worth around £40million for the transfer of Evan Ferguson amid the recent interest shown by West Ham United, according to Jacob Steinberg.
The Guardian journalist reported via the newspaper’s website (30 January) that there is now “confidence” among the Hammers’ camp that a deal can be struck.
Steinberg also added that a loan with an option to buy has also been “discussed” between the two Premier League sides.
Evan Ferguson would show that West Ham United mean business
One key area that West Ham undeniably need to strengthen before the winter transfer window deadline is their striker.
While they have a fair few options for their number nine role, the fact that both Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug are ruled out with injuries for extended periods once against makes striker the Hammers’ priority target.
A number of names have been linked with a switch to the London Stadium with the likes of Jhon Duran and PSV striker Ricardo Pepi just two of those who the Hammers have been rumoured to have an interest in.

While the deal for Pepi now seems to be off the table after PSV rejected their £20.9million offer, it seems that Graham Potter is once again turning his attention towards Ferguson who has been made available for a move by the Seagulls.
At the moment, there’s no telling what the future has in store for Potter and his men but if Ferguson ends up coming in, they could well save their campaign.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers could be set to lose another senior behind-the-scenes figure after Tim Steidten.
