Brian Kinnear heads for West Ham trial after Rangers exit
Scottish goalkeeper Brian Kinnear has headed to West Ham for a trial after being released by Rangers, according to ExWHUemployee.
Writing on his Patreon account on Tuesday night, the reliable Hammers source reported that Kinnear, 20, is in East London in a bid to earn himself a contract with the club.
Kinnear’s contract at Rangers expired at the end of last season.

COVID rulebreaker
It’s not a surprise that Rangers opted to release Kinnear at the end of last season.
Not only had the 20-year-old never made a senior appearance for the Gers but he also spent the second half of last season on loan in Scotland’s League Two with Annan Athletic.
During his spell at Annan, he played just two times and conceded in both matches that resulted in defeat. He spent most of his loan spell on the bench.
As well as that, Kinnear was among five Rangers players who were caught breaking COVID protocol earlier this year.
Kinnear, Nathan Patterson, Bongani Zungu, Calvin Bassey and Dapo Mebude were all banned for six matches by the Scottish FA [Sky Sports].
We’ll reserve judgement on Kinnear but he does not sound very promising.
Yes, he’s only 20-years-old but he struggled to get a game in the fourth-tier of Scottish football, which is probably comparable to the worst of Sunday League in East London.
He also showed a lack of professionalism by picking up that ban for breaking COVID protocol.
However, he’s still young and everyone makes mistakes so he should not really be judged on that.
We’ll see what the West Ham staff make of the free agent goalkeeper.
