Brian Brobbey to have West Ham medical in next 48 hours as loan deal agreed
Ajax striker Brian Brobbey is due to have a medical for his loan move to West Ham United in the next 48 hours, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist reported via the TBR Football website (24 January) that Graham Potter had been offered “20 different players” but the Dutchman is the one that Potter has chosen to take on loan.
The Hammers have been linked with bringing a new striker in since the winter transfer window opened with the likes of Jhon Duran and Andre Silva among the names linked with a move to the London Stadium.
West Ham United and Graham Potter are finally making moves in the transfer market
The 2024/25 season has been one to forget for fans of West Ham so far with Potter’s men currently sitting 14th in the Premier League table.
Granted, most of the harm done to the Hammers was done by his predecessor Julen Lopetegui and it’s up to the Englishman to get things back on track.
However, the fact that Niclas Fullkrug is out injured for an extended period has left the former Chelsea boss in a bit of a pickle which is why it’s good news that a new number nine has finally been sourced.

For the last few seasons, the Hammers have been under something of a striker curse with the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings failing to live up to expectations.
While Brobbey isn’t a household name many fans will know the fact that he’s been dubbed a “machine” by Fortuna Sittard manager Danny Buijs and has bagged 52 goals in his Ajax career says all that they need to know [United in Focus, 14 March 2024].
