Brentford make £12m offer for West Ham target Keane Lewis-Potter
West Ham face further competition for the signature of Keane Lewis-Potter with Brentford having made a £12million bid for the winger, reports the Mail.
The Hammers have long been credited with an interest in the Hull City player, and interest is ramping up in the final week of the transfer window, with The Mirror reporting this week that Tottenham were hoping to secure a deal before loaning him back to Humberside.
And Brentford are thought to be making a late play, having had an £8million offer turned down in the summer, and the another bid of over £10million reportedly rejected yesterday according to a BBC journalist on Twitter.
It is thought that the new owner at Hull Acun Ilicali is desperate to keep hold of the exciting player who has been compared to Eden Hazard in his style of play by Tigers youth coach Craig Fagan.
He told The Athletic in December: “Keane is maybe more athletic, maybe technically has a few more tricks in the bag than Jarrod [Bowen]. He’s similar to how Eden Hazard plays, with that low centre of gravity, coming inside and shooting. He’s not as good as Hazard by any stretch of the imagination at this point but he’s got the skills and abilities to be striving towards that.”
Where is the bid?
David Moyes apparently has money to spend so the lack of a bid for the 20-year-old is hard to understand at this point.
The Hammers have been noticeably quiet so far during the window, despite being linked to numerous players.
The manager is known to want to add a central striking option, but at a crucial juncture in what has been a fantastic season so far, the psychological boost of any attacking reinforcements could be invaluable.

The Englishman has been in great form in the Championship so far, scoring six and assisting four more, in what has otherwise been a slog of a season for Hull.
And with £15million reportedly the fee that would prompt them to listen to offers he is not extortionate.
Moyes spoke to Football London this week about how he would be focusing on bringing in young players in an ideal world, and while Lewis-Potter is not exactly a youth prospect he is an up and coming option with age on his side.
With the fantastic development Bowen has shown since his transfer between the two clubs, revisiting the same source for a similarly rated player almost makes too much sense to miss out on.
In other West Ham news, the club could reportedly make a late swoop to bring in this England Euro squad member.
