Bowen West Ham to Liverpool transfer verdict shared amid Salah exit latest

Dougie Critchley has urged Liverpool to look at signing Jarrod Bowen from West Ham United if Mohammed Salah leaves Anfield in the summer.

The Reds attacker is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract on Merseyside and Roshane Thomas of The Athletic has reported that the league leaders could be interested in the Hammers star.

The winger has been a shining light in an otherwise struggling Hammers side this season and is under contract until 2030, meaning any offer to West Ham would have to be enough to excite David Sullivan.

Sky Sports broadcaster Critchley thinks the 28-year-old would be a good addition at Liverpool, though, as he posted on X [27 December]: “I know at 28, he’s not really a standard Liverpool signing…

“But if Salah was to leave, and I’d give that a 20% likelihood max, I think Jarrod Bowen might be the best realistic and achievable option within the Premier League.

“Can imagine him scoring 15 League goals per season!”

Jarrod Bowen to leave West Ham United in 2025?

Bowen is a high-quality and reliable player in the Premier League, so it is no surprise that there is talk over his future, especially after a season in which the Hammers have struggled so far.

The Irons will not be keen to lose their star man, though, as they would undoubtedly be in a worse position this term if they did not have him in the side as he has contributed five goals and four assists.

Luckily for the East London outfit, it’s a very theoretical link at the current moment with Salah’s future at Anfield not yet decided and no clear indication that Arne Slot would be interested in securing Bowen’s services either.

However, if they do find themselves needing additions in the summer, Liverpool could certainly do worse than recruiting Bowen – not that West Ham fans will want that to happen, of course.

As Critchley says, whether they would actually go for it is to be seen as he is not a typical signing for the club.

Nevertheless, if Bowen pushed himself at the top level, there surely has to be confidence that he would be able to succeed.
