Bournemouth reject £13m West Ham bid for Joshua King – report

Bournemouth have rejected an offer worth £13million by West Ham for striker Joshua King, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported via their website on Sunday that the Irons will now set their sights on signing Brentford star Said Benrahma after reaching a dead-end in their pursuit of 28-year-old King.

Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath reported earlier this week that King is keen to return to the Premier League after suffering relegation with Bournemouth last season.

The Norway international is yet to start a Championship match since the Cherries were relegated and is also understood to have held talks about a potential move to West Brom.

However, it now looks as though King could stay put at the Vitality Stadium until at least the January transfer window unless Bournemouth lower their expectations for a player who’s contract expires in June.

There are only five days left until the domestic transfer window slams shut at 5pm on October 16.

As King will be open to pre-contract offers from clubs outside of England in January, Bournemouth will have to either try to get their wantaway striker tied down to a new contract in the next couple of months or drop their asking-fee if they don’t want to run the risk of losing the ex-Manchester United man for free.

King is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League with 48 goals in 161 top-flight appearances so there’s no doubt that someone will come along and try to snap him up for a cut-price fee in January.

In other West Ham news, Vladimir Coufal already looks like a bargain buy for the Hammers.
