Bologna to include sell-on clause in bid to beat West Ham United to Logan Costa transfer
Bologna are willing to offer Toulouse 15 per cent of any future resale from Logan Costa in a bid to sign the West Ham-linked defender, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
As reported on page 31 in the Italian publication’s print edition [6 August], a deal worth around £13m could be on the table from Bologna with a key resale value of 15 per cent potentially benefitting Toulouse in the long run.
The Hammers are battling the Serie A outfit – who will play in this season’s Champions League – for the 23-year-old centre-back, who is valued at around £17m having concluded they are likely to now fail to secure Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice [Calcio Mercato, 3 August].
West Ham need more defensive cover
Despite shelling out £40m on a statement deal for Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Julen Lopetegui’s Irons need to further build on their defensive options.
Two of the four centre-halves on the club’s first-team books are the linked-away duo of Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd, with Kilman joining Konstantinos Mavropanos as the other senior central defenders.
With the pursuit of Todibo set to end as unsuccessfully as that of Brazilian Fabricio Bruno earlier in the window, Costa alongside RB Salzburg man Oumar Solet have emerged as the latest targets for Tim Steidten [GiveMeSport, 5 August].

Bologna are equally as desperate in the hunt, having lost Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal in a recent high-profile deal, and must bulk out their squad for their most testing campaign yet back in Italy.
Costa, a Cape Verdean international who has 14 caps, played 17 times in Ligue 1 last season for Toulouse, and five times in other competitions.
