Bayern Munich put £95m on table for ‘Huge’ Declan Rice transfer in West Ham United news

Bayern Munich have put a “huge” package worth £95million on the table to buy West Ham United captain Declan Rice this summer, according to The Mirror.

Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all already emerged as strong potential suitors for Rice this summer. [Daily Mail, 11 May]

However, Bayern believe they have beaten this host of clubs to the punch and Thomas Tuchel is understood to have already made contact with the 24-year-old, with Rice interested.

West Ham have agreed to let the England International leave the club this summer and the lure of joining a European heavyweight could prove tempting.

Bidding war begins

As opening bids go, this isn’t a bad one by Bayern Munich whatsoever.

The Hammers have reiterated time and time again that £100million is going to be the minimum they sell Rice for, but with one year left on his contract, it was always dubious whether they could get a club to bid this high.

However, after this £95million bid from Bayern Munich, it feels like the club will likely get their wishes and their six-figure valuation.

Such money should allow David Moyes to completely revamp his first-team squad if he wishes to stay at the London Stadium next season.

The likes of Lucas Paqueta, Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen have all shown their class in the last month or two, and if these players can be joined by £100million worth of incomings, West Ham United fans should be in store for a much-improved season.

Bayern Munich have thrown their hat in the ring – now it is over to the Premier League clubs to respond.
