Arsenal to make low-ball offer for Lucas Paqueta if West Ham United get relegated

Arsenal are among several clubs attentive to Lucas Paqueta’s situation at West Ham and could make a “low” offer if they are relegated.

The Hammers splashed a club record £51m on bringing the Brazilian to east London last summer, but the season hasn’t gone to plan so far and we have battled relegation all season.

Recent results have seen us move away from the drop zone but our status for next season is not confirmed yet, and according to Fichajes.net (4 May) there are clubs who are prepared to put in a bid for Paqueta if we end up in the Championship.

“Lucas Paqueta would not be Arsenal’s only target, since the Brazilian player would also be in the crosshairs of other greats in Europe for next season, all of them paying attention to the possible relegation of West Ham in order to launch a low offer for the South American player, who can star in one of the big bombings of the next transfer market that will open on July 1,” they wrote.

Expected

There is no shock that there will be lots of top clubs across Europe and the Premier League that will be trying to sign our players if we get relegated.

The likes of Declan Rice, Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Kurt Zouma and others are all far too good to be playing in the second tier, which begs the question as to why we’re in this position to begin with.

West Ham

Paqueta is a superstar and has struggled for a lot of the season with the pace of the league, but he has improved greatly in recent times and has really established himself as a really important cog in our side.

As it stands it would take quite a collapse to end up in the relegation zone after the season ends, but it’s not impossible and can’t be ignored.

If we stay up though Paqueta will no doubt stay and have the midfield built around him to help push us forward and move away from being in a similar situation next season.
