Arsenal ace Reiss Nelson update shared as West Ham United eye transfer

Fulham are now considering a move to sign Arsenal attacker Reiss Nelson who’s also being linked with a move to West Ham, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reported on 28 August that the Gunners have been open to offers for the 24-year-old who is on the fringes under Mikel Arteta.

However, it’s understood that his potential move to the London Stadium failed to come to fruition earlier in the window.

West Ham must not make a late transfer move for Reiss Nelson

The Hammers have already invested significantly in their squad this transfer window, with new signings that bolster their attacking options.

This investment suggests a strategic direction towards a more balanced team, possibly reducing the necessity for another winger like Nelson, who, despite his talent, has struggled for consistent game time at Arsenal.

Moreover, the 24-year-old’s profile as a winger might overlap with existing players in the squad, where competition for places is already fierce.

The club’s interest in other positions, particularly in defence and midfield, indicates a priority on squad balance over adding depth in wide attacking roles.

It’s also important not to overspend as the Irons could find themselves facing potential sanctions having already spent big this summer.

Julen Lopetegui appears keen to bring in a central midfielder before the transfer deadline so there’s not much likely on the Nelson front.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made another transfer bid which is close to the player’s valuation as another London Stadium move is on the cards.
