Arnaut Danjuma set to complete West Ham United move this week
West Ham United are close to agreeing a deal for Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported in their printed edition (3 July, page 73) that the 25-year-old forward is set to complete his move to East London this week.
Personal terms have been agreed with the player. It is expected that Danjuma will cost around £38.5million. He has a buyout clause of £43m, but the Irons are trying to reduce the amount.
Another big-money signing
The Hammers have made two signings already, with Nayef Aguerd being their marquee signing so far.
Alphonse Areola has also joined from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent deal.
It seems Danjuma could be their third major signing of the summer.
The Dutch winger will add depth and quality in the attacking areas, but the Hammers are paying a big fortune to land him.
While signing a striker remains a priority, David Moyes seems to have prioritised adding depth in the attacking areas as well. Andriy Yarmolenko left the club after his contract had expired, while doubts remain over the futures of Said Benrahama and Nikola Vlasic.
Moyes doesn’t seem convinced with either of them, and probably he wants more quality in the attacking areas.
However, there is an element of risk associated with it. Danjuma did impress for Villarreal last season (2021-22) and Moyes is ready to take a gamble on him.
