Armstrong Oko-Flex set to leave West Ham United on loan, Derby interested

Armstrong Oko-Flex is set to leave West Ham on loan for the season, with League One club Derby County interested according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers have bolstered their squad during the summer window and manager David Moyes has been keeping an eye on the young talents throughout pre-season to see who is ready to step up.

And it seems like with the season approaching and the EFL season already underway we could see movement this week, with winger Oko-Flex set to be one of the first out of the door.

Writing on his Patreon, Ex said; “As reported before we have heard a number of academy players could be about to go on loan too with Derby County showing interest in Oko-Flex for example.”

With plenty of attacking options already at the club his playing time will be minimal, and a loan seems like the best solution for all parties.

Experience

There is nothing more important or better for development than regular playing time when it comes to young footballers, and that is the stage where Oko-Flex is at right now.

The 20-year-old has impressed in the Premier League 2 and had fans calling for him to step up to the West Ham first-team at the back end of last season when the club had injury problems in attack and Michail Antonio was struggling for form.

But a move to the EFL with Derby, where the lights aren’t quite as bright and the pressure is off will be great for him to get some rhythm and minutes in his legs.

He will be able to try things and experiment, but also with Derby expected to push for promotion back to the Championship there will be a culture of winning looking to be implemented at the club.

These are all positive things and you can be assured that Moyes will have his eye on the youngster with attention on next season already because he’s such a talent.
