Archie Gray stance on West Ham United transfer emerges as Irons consider summer swoop
West Ham United have been tracking Leeds United gem Archie Gray for “some time” ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Ben Jacobs.
The sports broadcaster reported via Give Me Sport (1 June) that the 18-year-old is the subject of interest for a lot of Premier League sides, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Brighton all also keeping tabs on his development.
Despite this interest, Gray is understood to be happy at Elland Road and his personal preference would be to remain a Leeds player over the course of the summer transfer window.
However, a sale could still happen as the Whites need to raise funds this summer having missed out on promotion to the Premier League this season.

Julen Lopetegui hasn’t even officially begun working at the London Stadium, but the former Real Madrid manager is wasting no time getting to work in the summer transfer window ahead of the start of pre-season.
Several deals already appear to be in place for the Hammers to make additions this summer and while it remains to be seen whether or not they will act on their interest in Gray, he certainly is an exciting prospect.
The teenager has blown away pundits and supporters alike this season with Sky Sports host David Prutton labelling him “phenomenal” [Yorkshire Evening Post, 29 March] and Lucy Ward heaping praise on his “ridiculous” rise into the first team at Elland Road [talkSPORT, 16 May].
If the Hammers can somehow beat the competition to secure his signature ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, they would be signing one of English football’s best and brightest talents.
It won’t be easy for the Irons to get ahead of the pack, but with the right offer, they could tempt Leeds into parting company. Hopefully, they won’t let this opportunity pass them by.
