Angelo Stiller wants to follow in Florian Wirtz’s footsteps amid West Ham interest
West Ham could be in line to land their own version of Florian Wirtz next year.
Wirtz signed for Liverpool for £116million over the summer, becoming the most expensive Premier League player of all time, until Alexander Isak also moved to Anfield.
This could prove to be the blueprint for the London Stadium outfit moving forward as Graham Potter sets his sights on further midfield additions, after most recently signing Soungoutou Magassa from Monaco.
Angelo Stiller could be West Ham’s next target as a move from Stuttgart comes into view, moving towards the next summer transfer window.
This could see Stiller follow in the footsteps of his fellow countryman, especially after what he’s said about Wirtz previously.

Angelo Stiller speaks out on Florian Wirtz example
There is no getting away from the fact that the middle of the park is still in need of evolution in E20, even with the signings of Magassa and Mateus Fernandes.
This could see the German become an ideal option in upcoming windows, especially if Lucas Paqueta is to leave West Ham, after being linked to Aston Villa most recently.
Stiller operates for Stuttgart either as a central midfielder or sometimes deeper and has become an experienced operator at Bundesliga level.
Competition | Appearances | Goal involvements |
Bundesliga | 112 | 21 |
DFB Pokal | 16 | 8 |
Champions League | 10 | 1 |
With that being said, it does appear that the 24-year-old wants to challenge himself away from Germany, with a move to the Premier League potentially on the cards.
This comes after Fussball Europa, on 11 September, linked Stiller with West Ham as a £35m release clause becomes available next summer, something which could tempt the Irons in.
The Hammers have been handed fresh hope to land the midfielder, after he spoke out about the new Liverpool man and the chance of following in his footsteps.
He said: “Basically, I’m interested in going abroad at some point; I thought Florian Wirtz’s decision to go to Liverpool was cool.”

Angelo Stiller could be excellent for West Ham
It finally looks as if the East London club are taking their midfield issues seriously after such a poor opening to the campaign.
The signings made in the late stages of the window could prove to have a telling impact on the squad this season, but that will need to continue into the next season.
This is where Stiller could come in and have a telling impact as a box-to-box option who is more than happy to get on the ball and keep his side ticking over.
Angelo Stiller’s strengths:
- Passing
- Key passes
- Through balls
- Likes to do layoffs
West Ham could seriously benefit from landing the German on a cut-price fee, especially if they are serious about rising up the division in the coming years.
