Alex Crook: West Ham want to sign Danny Ings
West Ham want to sign Southampton’s Danny Ings according to talkSPORT transfer guru Alex Crook.
But he claims West Ham have been determined to land a striker since Sebastien Haller left in January and they have a big interest in England striker Ings.
He told talkSPORT, “They’ve got an interest in Danny Ings at Southampton as well, although, my understanding is that he has a gentleman’s agreement with Saints that he will only leave if either of the two Manchester clubs come in for him.”
What a signing
West Ham have been linked with so many strikers since Haller left that it is already impossible to remember them all.
Ings, however, is undoubtedly the best name to be linked so far and he would be an absolutely phenomenal signing for the Hammers.
His record for Southampton is brilliant, with 32 goals in 63 league games since signing permanently, and the 28-year-old’s relentless work rate is almost as good as his finishing.
We have lacked a natural goalscorer for multiple seasons now, and Ings would be perfect foil for Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen.
The fact he is linked to big six clubs says it all, and it would be a real coup if we were to land the “unbelievable” striker [The Athletic].
Ings would probably command a significant fee but we spent a lot on Haller and unlike the Ivorian, Ings guarantees goals.
We would love GSB to make good on this interest and bring Ings to the London Stadium this summer.
