Alex Crook shares further update on West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen’s contract

Jarrod Bowen’s new contract at West Ham is not believed to include a release clause, meaning it would now take big money to prise him away from the London Stadium, according to Alex Crook.

The talkSPORT journalist shared the news via his personal Twitter account on 8 October, as he claimed the Hammers were nervous last week that the deal wouldn’t be signed, although they always hoped he would.

This update has emerged after talkSPORT shared Bowen is set to sign a seven-year deal to become the highest-paid player at West Ham, turning down interest from Liverpool and Newcastle United, which Crook called “massive news”.

Crook is right, this is massive

For the club to tie down their star player and prized asset to a seven-year deal is a huge development, particularly in being able to ward off interest from two of their Premier League rivals, including one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Bowen wrote himself into West Ham legend last season by scoring the winner in the Europa Conference League final, and will now cement his status as a hero in East London by signing a huge new deal and committing his long-term future to the Hammers.

The winger has excelled under David Moyes once again this season, with five goals from his opening seven Premier League games, and he will be looking to keep up this rich vein of form in the coming weeks.

West Ham

After their European success last season, spearheaded by the England international, the Hammers are looking to be competitive across all four competitions they are involved in this season, and the news of Bowen’s deal will be a huge boost for the whole club.

In other West Ham news, one journalist has claimed a West Ham ace can feel aggrieved after recent news.
