Agents at work to revive Lucas Paqueta exit from West Ham United to Manchester City as ‘jackpot’ claim emerges
Agents are at work to revive West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta’s proposed move to Manchester City, according to Foot Mercato.
The French media outlet reported on 16 August that the Hammers are looking to receive a “big jackpot” to allow the Brazilian international to make the switch to the Premier League champions with the deal currently at a “standstill”.
Foot Mercato said the 25-year-old has already agreed to join the Citizens, who it added have made an improved offer for the midfielder that is worth £86.5million.

Let him go
If it’s true that Man City have indeed offered the figure being suggested by the French media outlet, then West Ham should absolutely be looking to let him go.
Since the Hammers forked out a reported club-record £51million to sign him from Lyon last summer, the midfielder put in a number of good performances but also massively frustrated at times.
He did, however, grow into the campaign as it went on and played a crucial role in the club lifting the Europa Conference League following his assist for Jarrod Bowen’s winning goal in the victory over Fiorentina.

It could be difficult to replace him with a player of a similar quality, but that money would ensure the Irons can look to improve in a few areas where we are still lacking.
Although the player is continuing to do his duties for the club, if he wants to be moving onto Man City and a lot of money is on offer for him, then it’s best for everyone that we sanction the deal.
In other West Ham news, a pundit has urged one player to make the move to the London Stadium.
