Aaron Wan-Bissaka update emerges as West Ham United eye Noussair Mazraoui transfer

West Ham are still considering Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 22 July that despite the Hammers’ interest in Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, they are still considering the aforementioned Premier League defenders.

The Hammers are believed to be keen on signing a new right-back this summer with Julen Lopetegui in charge at the helm.

Sheth wrote on X: “West Ham in talks with Bayern Munich over signing of right-back Noussair Mazraoui. Morocco international into final 2 years of his contract. Interest retained in Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters & Manchester United’s Aaron wan-Bissaka.”

West Ham must priortise signing Noussair Mazraoui

The Hammers’ pursuit of Mazraoui could be a strategic move to bolster their defensive options.

The 26-year-old Morocco international’s potential arrival at West Ham could provide much-needed depth and quality in the right-back position.

His experience in top-flight football, both domestically and in European competitions, could be invaluable for the Hammers.

Moreover, his versatility, as he can also play as a midfielder, adds another layer to his appeal.

While the Hammers are also considering Wan-Bissaka and Walker-Peters, Mazraoui’s technical ability and tactical flexibility could make him a more suitable fit for the club.

His attacking prowess, combined with his defensive solidity, aligns well with the style of play that manager Julen is expected to implement.

It remains to be seen if they can secure his services ahead of the other interested clubs.
