The Sky Sports Germany journalist reported via X on 12 August that the right-back has completed his Hammers medical and is due to put pen to paper later the same evening.
The defender has a long-term deal running for the next six seasons ready at the London Stadium after extension negotiations during the transfer window.
Wan-Bissaka is due to follow Jean-Clear Todibo, as well as the trio of Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville and Guido Rodriguez in after all four were secured and passed medicals in the past fortnight.
West Ham to complete signing of Manchester United defender
This deal was said to be Julen Lopetgui’s final request of the club for the transfer window [The Sun, 5 August] so the Spaniard will be delighted to get the competition for Vladimir Coufal that he wanted.
He has been provided with Todibo as a major bonus after Tim Steidten successfully hijacked Juventus’ move for the centre-back, as the end of the window has strengthened the squad considerably.
The progress with Wan-Bissaka has been painful at times but having pursued the likes of Kyle Walker-Peters and Noussair Mazraoui this summer it looks like the Irons have finally got their right-back reinforcement on the way in.
Steidten deserves major credit for securing three new potential starters across the back line, a pair of wingers, a coveted free agent in central midfield and the long-awaited senior striker.
He had his fair share of disappointments during the window as the likes of N’Golo Kanté proved to be out of reach.
But he has responded in a big way to leave Lopetegui’s squad looking much improved on paper, with the manager now tasked with making it all click on the pitch.
In other West Ham news, another Irons deal has now collapsed to leave the club scrambling for a solution.
