Aaron Wan-Bissaka seals Manchester United exit as West Ham United contract signed
Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has just signed his contract with West Ham United, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer specialist reported via X on Monday (12 August) that the English right-back has put pen to paper on a deal at the London Stadium to seal his Red Devils exit and complete a move to the Irons.
Hammers technical director Tim Steidten was in attendance as the 26-year-old signed on the dotted line to become the latest addition to Julen Lopetegui’s squad and end his five-season stay with United at Old Trafford.
Wan-Bissaka’s contract with the Irons is reportedly set to run for the next six years [Florain Plettenberg, 12 August] as he follows the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Jean-Clair Todibo to East London.
Will Crysencio Summerville exit Manchester United amid West Ham transfer rumours?
After more than a couple of delays, the Hammers have finally got their man and with Wan-Bissaka’s signature on the contract, this deal appears to have finally become done and dusted.
Since arriving in East London, Lopetegui has managed to completely revamp the entirety of his West Ham side from front to back with a week to spare before the new Premier League campaign gets underway.
Wan-Bissaka will finally provide some much-needed competition for Vladimir Coufal on the right of defence. He may not be the oldest defender, but he has plenty of experience at the top level and will be a valuable addition to the changing room.
Hopefully, he will be able to rediscover the form that made him so hard to play against during his time at Crystal Palace where he was often a winger’s nightmare because of his excellent defensive ability when one-on-one with an attacker.
Whether or not this signing is the end of the Hammers’ incoming business remains to be seen. It wouldn’t be a surprise given how active Steidten and Lopetegui have been if more news faces still arrived.
