Aaron Wan-Bissaka nears Manchester United exit in crucial update for West Ham United transfer
Manchester United are now confident that Aaron Wan-Bissaka is now days from leaving for a new club as West Ham attempt to sign him, according to GiveMeSport.
The outlet reported via their website on 29 July that the Old Trafford hierarchy expect the English defender “will take a big step towards finding his next club by the end of the week” as they ramp up their attempts to replace him with Noussair Mazraoui.
The Hammers had agreed a deal to sign the Bayern Munich man before it broke down over agents fees, with focus then switching back to Wan-Bissaka who has to leave if Erik ten Hag is to get Mazraoui [Florian Plettenberg, 26 July].
Tim Steidten is reportedly battling AC Milan for the former Crystal Palace defender as he “edges towards the exit door” in what is seen as a “crucial period” in the transfer race.
West Ham want Old Trafford ace after Noussair Mazraoui collapse
The Irons would be left doubly-disappointed if Wan-Bissaka moves elsewhere after seeing the Mazraoui pursuit break down.
Foot Mercato reported on 28 July that an agreement has been reached between the two clubs to bring the 26-year-old to the London Stadium so it would appear to hinge on his own plans.
He is thought to want to return to London [Stretty News, 12 July] but is also believed to have rejected a Hammers move recently [Telegraph, 26 July].
If that was a concrete decision it wouldn’t make any sense to still be pursuing a move so the door must be open on an improved offer.

Wan-Bissaka would likely be expected to become the regular starter over Vladimir Coufal, although Julen Lopetegui may lose some the Czech’s attacking output in those circumstances.
Signing the Englishman would provide an answer to a drawn-out attempt to replace Ben Johnson, with frustration over the inability to reach an agreement with Southampton for Kyle Walker-Peters despite Flynn Downes moving the other direction, and it looks like an answer is now close.
