Aaron Wan-Bissaka already in USA amid West Ham United transfer talks

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is already in the United States amid talks of a move to West Ham, according to the Mirror.

The report (2 August, page 51) suggests that Wan-Bissaka, who has just one year left on his deal with the Red Devils, is already in the US with Manchester United – which is exactly where the West Ham squad is located right now.

It comes in the midst of news that the Hammers want to get a deal officially sorted by the end of the week (HITC, 1 August).

Wan-Bissaka is a huge move from West Ham

This is the first time in four years that West Ham United won’t be playing European football. Even with that being the case, though, their drive and appeal are as great as ever. The 2023 Conference League champions are able to go to a club like United and pitch an appealing transfer to a 26-year-old who is still very much in his prime.

Wan-Bissaka is arguably one of the best slider tacklers in football right now. In addition to that, he made 22 Premier League appearances for Erik ten Hag’s men last season (FBref). Sure, some could argue he doesn’t have as much momentum as he once did, but he’s still playing at an elite level – and that’s exactly what Julen Lopetegui needs.

It runs concurrently alongside a move that’s in the advanced stages for Niclas Fullkrug. These are players that are more than capable of playing consistent first-team football for a Champions League side.

Hopefully, in the months and years to come, they can help the boys from London Stadium get back to that point.

In other West Ham news, another forward has rejected a move to London Stadium.
