Aaron Cresswell looking to force through West Ham United exit to Wolves, not training with squad

Aaron Cresswell wants to quit West Ham and is trying to force through a move to Wolves, according to a report by ExWHUemployee.

Writing on his Patreon account (27 July), the reliable outlet claim that the veteran defender hasn’t been training with West Ham this week as he looks to push through a move away from the club.

Wolves had a £2.5m bid rejected with the Hammers holding out for £5m to let him leave, and they are now “desperately” trying to get the cash together with a deal rated at 50/50 as it stands.

“The other potential candidates for the role are Aaron Cresswell, who hasn’t been training with West Ham this week as he looks to force his move to Wolves through,” he wrote.

“Cresswell is due to get a 2 year deal with a clause-related offering of a 3rd year which is obviously longer than his one year deal at West Ham.

“His wages are also said to be improved if Wolves can complete the deal. At the moment the deal is 50/50 with Wolves desperately trying to raise transfer funds for the veteran left back.”

Shocking

Cresswell wasn’t expected to be leaving the club this summer and was reportedly even in consideration to become the new captain after Declan Rice left to join Arsenal.

He’s the longest-serving player of the current first-team squad and was seen as a player who led by example in the changing room.

But if he isn’t training with the squad and is actively pushing for a move away, then it’s baffling that he is held in such high esteem as he is letting himself down and putting the club in a precarious position.

West Ham have shown before that we are tough negotiators and we won’t be pushed into a corner, but realistically this is a situation where the player should be moved on because it suits everyone the best.

We get money for someone set to leave for free next year and who clearly doesn’t want to be here, and he gets out to sign a longer deal on better wages elsewhere.
