£8m update emerges as West Ham United eye Hertha Berlin striker Ibrahim Maza
West Ham, Brentford, Brighton, Leicester City, RB Leipzig, Augsburg and Union Berlin are among the teams keen on Hertha Berlin striker Ibrahim Maza, according to Caught Offside.
The news outlet reported on 14 June that the 2.Bundesliga club are expecting clubs to test the waters soon with bids in the region of £8.4million.
The Hammers have scouted the 18-year-old German forward on several occasions in 2024 and are now considering a move for him.
Ibrahim Maza may be a tad young to be a regular for West Ham
At just 18 years old, Maza may be too young to be a regular in the Hammers’ first team.
While he has shown promise, he has only made 15 senior appearances for Hertha Berlin, scoring one goal and providing two assists this past season in the German second tier.
If West Ham are signing Maza for the future, it makes sense to invest in a young talent with potential.
However, if they see him as a first-team regular, it may be too soon for him to make an immediate impact at the Premier League level.
Maza’s development will require time and patience, and the Hammers will need to manage his progression carefully to ensure he reaches his full potential.

The London outfit ideally need to loosen the purse strings and go all out to sign a striker who can guarantee over 15 league goals.
In other West Ham news, a £33.7m update has emerged as the Hammers have made contact to sign the best dribbler in a top 5 European league this summer.
