£33.7m update emerges as West Ham United make contact for Juventus ace Matias Soule

West Ham have made contact to ask about information as they aim to sign Juventus attacker Matias Soule this summer, according to Mirko Di Natale.

The Tutto Juve journalist reported on 12 June that the 21-year-old Argentine attacker will not be sold for anything less than £33.7million (€40million) this summer.

Soule spent this past season on loan at Frosinone, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 36 Serie A appearances.

Via Twitter, Di Natale wrote: “Only an offer of €40million (or higher) could convince Juventus to sell Matias Soule. West Ham is among the clubs that has asked for information about the Argentine talent.”

West Ham may struggle to meet transfer valuation for Matias Soule

Di Natale was actually the best dribbler this past season in the Serie A, completing 90 dribbles, per Planet Football.

Only Mohammed Kudus and Girona’s Savio completed more across the top-five European leagues which showcases he’s already performing at a pretty impressive level.

However, the asking price of £33.7million for Soule may seem steep for the Hammers, especially considering they are already investing heavily in potential with the signing of Luis Guilherme. [Fabrizio Romano]

The Argentine, while promising, has not consistently proven himself at the highest level and such a high price tag could be a significant risk.

The Hammers must carefully consider the financial implications and the player’s ability to adapt to the Premier League before committing to such a large expenditure.

If this is a player everyone is on board with and deems worth the risk, then by all means, he should be pursued as the top priority.
