£25m twist emerges as West Ham United want to sign Brest defender Bradley Locko
West Ham are in a race with Chelsea, Newcastle and perhaps Manchester United to sign Brest defender Bradley Locko, according to Give Me Sport.
The media outlet reported on 25 May that the Ligue 1 side have put the 22-year-old French left-back on sale ahead of the transfer window and that the Hammers have taken notice of him.
The French club are looking for £25million in order to part ways with the high-potential defender.
West Ham may find £25million steep for Bradley Locko
Lock played a key role in Brest’s impressive season, which saw them finish in third place and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Thus, it’s no surprise that his performances have attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United.
Despite his potential and the interest he has generated, the Hammers may be hesitant to pay the £25million price tag.
The amount is significant and could be seen as a risk for a player who has yet to prove himself in the Premier League, despite him being on the club’s radar in January as well.
The Hammers might not have the financial resources to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Newcastle, who are known for their spending power.
Additionally, they may have other priorities in the transfer market, such as strengthening other positions or finding players with more experience in the Premier League.

While Locko has shown great promise, his lack of experience at the highest level could be a factor in the club’s decision-making process.
In other West Ham news, the wife of a Hammers player has potentially stirred up a controversy with her recent comments on social media accusing the club of bias.
