West Ham Super Fans react as Genoa want to sign Andriy Yarmolenko

Italian club Genoa are in talks to sign West Ham forward Andriy Yarmolenko in the January transfer window, according to recent reports from Pianeta Genoa.

The 32-year-old, who joined the club in 2018, has made just over 65 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals in all competitions across four seasons.

The 106-times capped Ukraine international was a massive signing when he first joined the club, but injuries have restricted his game time. He just couldn’t become the mainstay that everyone expected him to be.

Nevertheless, he is a class player with tremendous quality but probably has found it hard to adjust to the pace of the league. The consistency in his game has been missing, although he has done well in Europa League games this season.

West Ham fans feel that it would be a good move for him where he will get regular football. However, the majority of the fans opine that the club should only sell him if they have a replacement lined up already.

Here’s what they had to say:

To be honest, Yarmolenko’s time at the London club is as good as over. He has dropped down the pecking order behind Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma, Manuel Lanzini and Nikola Vlasic.

In fact, David Moyes is keen to promote Under-23 players in his position.

Genoa boss Andriy Shevchenko wants to sign Yarmolenko, and the move would suit all parties involved.

He is out of contract in 2023, and West Ham could receive a handy transfer fee that they can reinvest in January, with signing a striker and a centre-back being the club’s top priorities.
