West Ham make the trip to Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon with the sides in contrasting form heading into the Premier League clash.

The Irons, fresh from Wednesday’s League Cup shoot-out success over Manchester City, have won their last two league games 1-0, against Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, to sit fourth in the table.

Villa, meanwhile, are 15th after nine games following a dismal recent run of results which includes three straight defeats.

Ahead of Sunday’s clash at Villa Park, we spoke to a season ticket holder at the home side, Sean Whelan, to find a bit more out about the Villains.

What have you made of your start to the season? Who have been the stars so far?

It’s been an indifferent start to the season, as expected with the new signings. There have not been many stand out players though [Emiliano] Martinez has kept his form from last season and the summer up while Jacob Ramsey has shown great consistency for a young player.

Is there anyone in the West Ham side you think you could exploit on Sunday?

There are no obvious weaknesses in the West Ham side which is testament to how well Moyes has done. [Leon] Bailey’s pace. though, could cause problems.

Villa have a difficult recent record against the Irons, what would you expect to do differently to change that on Sunday?

We played very well at the London Stadium last season and should’ve won. We took the game to them and doing so again may be the best way to go.

Score prediction?

I still think West Ham will claim a 2-1 win.
