West Ham predicted XI vs Man United: Final chance for exit-bound attacker in two changes by Nuno

West Ham face Manchester United on Thursday evening as they aim to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Liverpool beat West Ham 2-0 at the London Stadium on Sunday, but the big talking point around the game was the manner of Lucas Paqueta’s dismissal.

With less than ten minutes remaining, the midfielder, clearly upset about Darren England’s decision to award the visitors a free-kick, quickly confronted the referee.

Paqueta received a booking for his actions, but continued his protests and was given a second yellow card moments later, despite being warned.

Nuno to give Luis Guilherme starting spot

West Ham go into Thursday’s game against Man United as big underdogs and will have to try and get a result at Old Trafford without the help of Paqueta.

The 28-year-old will be suspended for one match after his sending off at home to Liverpool, so is not available for selection as the Hammers travel up north.

With very few other options, Nuno may opt to give attacker Luis Guilherme another chance from the outset.

Guilherme was taken off at half-time when he was included in the starting lineup, in the 2-2 draw away at Bournemouth, and the Brazilian will hope to have a better game against Man United.

Soungoutou Magassa was underwhelming at centre-back in the defeat to Liverpool, and it would be no surprise if Igor Julio came in to shore up the defence.

Luis Guilherme set for West Ham exit

Guilherme has been linked with a West Ham exit in the January transfer window, with multiple clubs said to be interested in the 19-year-old.

The teenager has made just five Premier League appearances so far this season, and it is abundantly clear that he hasn’t settled into life in East London.

In the early stages of the 2025-26 campaign, Guilherme struggled with injuries, and as of yet he has not been able to put together a consistent run in the team.

With Paqueta suspended though, this may be the youngster’s final chance to show what he can do ahead of the January window.
