Lucas Paqueta did something for Brazil that he hasn’t managed in almost two years at West Ham
Nuno Espirito Santo will be happy to have his stars back after the international break.
West Ham were worried over Lucas Paqueta when it was announced that their star was in Brazil’s squad for their upcoming friendlies.
Paqueta is one of the Hammers’ best players, and Nuno looks to try and get the Brazilian back to his best to help West Ham achieve this season.
West Ham are already light in attack, and need someone like Paqueta to create and score goals.
Thankfully for them, his performances for Brazil have shown that he’s in great form ahead of his return to the London Stadium. However, Paqueta did something for his country that West Ham have been begging him to do for a long time.
Lucas Paqueta grabbed an assist for Brazil
Paqueta has been linked away from West Ham, as his relationship with the club has been up and down in the past couple of months.
While away with Brazil, Paqueta registered an assist for Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli, but he hasn’t done that since the 23/24 season for West Ham.

So far this year, Paqueta is yet to register an assist for the Hammers, but is in good goalscoring form.
The attacking midfielder also went the entirety of the 2024-25 season without grabbing an assist for West Ham.
Nuno Espirito Santo needs Paqueta at his best for West Ham
Nuno’s style of play is very beneficial for Paqueta. It focuses on fast transitional play, as Paqueta will look to be as effective as attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White was last season under Nuno.
Not only that, but he has a good on-field relationship with Jarrod Bowen, as if he can get to his best for West Ham, they could have a good chance of success this year, despite a horrible start.
Paqueta has had off-the-field issues, as he needs to provide more on the pitch in terms of chance creation, and Nuno will be the best coach to get that out of him.
